Refund & Cancellation Policy

How to cancel your subscription, when you can get a refund, and how Paddle processes both.

Effective: 2026-06-01 · Last updated: 2026-06-05

This policy explains how cancellations and refunds work for paid Saemi subscriptions. It applies together with our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

Paddle is our Merchant of Record. Subscriptions are billed by Paddle.com Market Limited ("Paddle") on Saemi's behalf. Cancellations and refunds are issued by Paddle in accordance with this policy and Paddle's Buyer Terms. Refunds are returned to the original payment method.

1. Cancelling your subscription

Sign in to Saemi, open the user menu (bottom-left), and click Billing & plans → Manage subscription. This opens Paddle's self-service buyer portal where you can cancel in one click. You don't need to email us.

  • Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
  • You keep full access to the Service — and to your Workspace content — until the period ends.
  • No future charges will be issued after cancellation.
  • You can reactivate from the same portal before the period ends without losing any data.

If you cannot access the in-app cancel button (e.g., locked-out admin), email service@saemi.at from the address associated with your billing account and we will cancel it for you.

2. Free trials

If a free trial is offered for your plan, no charge is made during the trial. You can cancel at any time during the trial without being billed via Billing & plans → Manage subscription. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, the subscription converts to a paid one and your payment method is charged. The trial end date is shown on your Billing page so you can plan ahead.

3. Refunds

14-day money-back guarantee (first purchase)

For your first paid subscription to Saemi, you may request a full refund within 14 days of the initial charge for any reason. Email service@saemi.at from your billing address; we will instruct Paddle to issue the refund within 5 business days and your subscription will end immediately.

Renewals

Renewal charges are non-refundable. Please cancel before the renewal date if you do not want to continue — the next renewal date is shown on your Billing page and in the renewal-due email Paddle sends you. We do not retroactively pro-rate renewals.

Seat-based pro-ration

Saemi is billed per seat (Authorized User). Adding seats during a billing period generates a pro-rated charge handled by Paddle. Removing seats reduces the next renewal but does not generate a mid-cycle refund, since the removed seat retains access until the end of the period.

What we don't refund

  • Partial unused periods after the 14-day money-back window.
  • Renewal charges (cancel before the renewal date instead).
  • Charges resulting from a workspace admin adding seats.
  • Subscriptions cancelled due to a violation of our Acceptable Use Policy (see the Terms of Service).
  • Fees collected by your payment provider (e.g., card-network FX fees) outside of Paddle's control.

4. EU / UK statutory withdrawal right

If you are a consumer (acting outside of your trade or profession) in the European Union, the European Economic Area, or the United Kingdom, you have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal from the date you enter into the subscription contract, with no reason required. This right is granted in addition to — and never reduced by — the 14-day money-back guarantee above.

Express consent to immediate performance. Because Saemi is a digital service that is delivered immediately upon subscription, by clicking "Subscribe" you expressly request that we begin providing the Service before the 14-day withdrawal period expires. If you exercise your withdrawal right after using the Service, we may pro-rate the refund to reflect the portion already delivered, as permitted by Article 14(4)(a) of the EU Consumer Rights Directive.

To exercise withdrawal, email service@saemi.at with the subject "Withdrawal" and your account email. You may also use the model withdrawal form annexed to the EU Consumer Rights Directive — but a clear email is sufficient.

5. Invoices & payment history

All invoices and past charges are available in the Paddle buyer portal at any time — open it from Billing & plans → Manage subscription. Paddle also emails a receipt to your billing address on every successful charge.

6. Refund processing time

  • We confirm receipt of refund requests within 2 business days.
  • Approved refunds are submitted to Paddle within 5 business days.
  • Paddle returns funds to your original payment method; arrival depends on your bank — typically 3–10 business days for cards.
  • Refunds are issued in the same currency as the original charge. We are not responsible for FX-rate movements between the charge and the refund.
  • Taxes (VAT, GST, US sales tax) collected by Paddle are refunded together with the principal where applicable.

7. Chargebacks

Please contact us before filing a chargeback — most disputes resolve faster by email, and a chargeback can lock your account from further purchases (Paddle's policy, not ours).

8. Data after cancellation

When your subscription ends, you may export your Workspace content for 30 days via the in-app export tools or by emailing service@saemi.at. After the 30-day grace period we may delete Customer Content from active systems; encrypted backups roll off on a schedule not exceeding 35 days. See the Privacy Policy for details.

9. Contact

For billing, refund, privacy, and general inquiries: service@saemi.at. We respond within 2 business days. See also the Privacy Policy.
